beach towels on alonissos

You are stretched out on the beach towels, your brother beside you, your parents close, all of you turned toward the same horizon. There is no wind, only the sea lapping softly at the shore and a quietness that holds the four of you together. Your mum strokes your hair, and the whole shoreline feels like yours, and it lives now as milky black tea, warm skin, cream and sandalwood.
