Every Thursday, three cities, one film. We press play on a count of three, Singapore, London, Chicago, and the group chat scrolls faster than the subtitles. M eats too loudly in every time zone. Pauses are sacred and democratic, and toilet breaks are announced like flight delays.

We have kept it going through two babies, one divorce and about a decade, and none of us can remember whose idea it was. Thursday is Thursday. The people who love us know not to schedule against it.
