starlit skinny dip

There were five of us and not one towel between us, which nobody worked out until afterwards.

Leaping into the starlit waves below I shrieked as the cold water hit my warm salty skin. We swam until our lips turned blue, bumping into each other and grabbing hold of whoever was nearest.

Then we lay on the shore still wet in the dewy green air, pointing out constellations we half remembered until the night disappeared.

We dried off on one hoodie, and we couldn't stop laughing.
