starlit skinny dip

There were five of you and not one towel between you, which nobody worked out until afterwards.

Leaping into the starlit waves below you shrieked as the cold water hit your warm salty skin. You swam until your lips turned blue, bumping into each other and grabbing hold of whoever was nearest.

Then you lay on the shore still wet in the dewy green air, pointing out constellations you half remembered until the night disappeared.

You dried off on one hoodie, and none of you could stop laughing.
